With its Canadian subsidiary, Demathieu & Bard has won the contract to repair the Honoré-Mercier bridge in Québec, starting Spring 2011. The company based in Montigny-lès-Metz had already repaired the Jacques-Cartier bridge in Montreal in 2001-2002.
D&B will be in charge of replacing the bridge's deck with 41,000 m² of prefabricated slabs, the installation of new lamp posts, rain drains, railings and the construction of a new multi-functional pavement.
The 32.7 km long bridge spans the St. Lawrence river and carries 34.7 million vehicles a year.
